Reference is made to my circular of 7th February 2023 where we communicated the EMIS calendar of events for term one of the academic year 2023. 

We appreciate schools and Local Governments that have responded and updated the status of their learners in the EMIS system. Nevertheless, we have observed that a number of education institutions are yet to update learner information on the system. 

The purpose of this letter, therefore, is fivefold to:

i) To inform you that the functionality of promotions, repeaters, transfers, and transition of learners has been extended to 31st March 2023.

ii) Uploading of learners who were never captured in the academic year 2022 will commence on 1st April 2023.

iii) To again share the EMIS calendar of events and to request that you observe the stipulated timelines. 

iv) Remind parents to ensure their learners obtain National Identification Numbers (NINs) from NIRA.

v) Reiterate that transitioning learners from one level of education to another such as to Senior One and Senior Five among others can ONLY be done for learners already registered in EMIS.
